The following provides an overview of the use of cookies by Axelra AG for its websites.

1. What are cookies?

In the web environment, cookies or advertiser IDs in apps (hereinafter referred to as “cookies”) are small text files that are stored on your device. With these, the website or app can record certain information and settings (e.g. login, language, use, preferences and statistics) over a specific period, in particular to optimise user experiences, security and analyses.

2. For how long are cookies stored in the browser?

Some cookies are automatically deleted immediately after ending a browser session or after a predetermined period. For technical reasons, some cookies are permanently stored in the browser, unless they are deleted by the user (see section 4). 

3. What cookies do we use for which purpose?

We use the following kinds of cookies for the following purposes:

a) Necessary cookies: These cookies are technically necessary for the functioning of the website and app and the presentation of the offer (e.g. use of basket of goods or further search on subsites).

b) Statistical cookies: These cookies collect information about the technical conduct of the user on the website and app (e.g. frequency of use of the website or subsites), security of offer, error messages, loading times for website, display of website with different web browsers).

c) Preference cookies: These cookies enhance the user experience when using the website and app by allowing the setting and storing of  individual settings (e.g. storing of settings such as the selected language).

d) Marketing or tracking cookies: These cookies are used to track users of the website and app and analyse their surfing habits. The intention is to load pop-ups related to retargeting campaigns that are relevant and attractive to the individual users.
In addition to our own cookies, we also use cookies from third parties, such as plug-ins. Third-party cookies are in particular needed for assessing the surfing habits of users of the website and app and for loading pop-ups related to retargeting campaigns. To this end, information about the use of our website and app is sent to our partners for social media, advertising and analyses.

Data privacy Information: Data privacy policy & conditions of use (source Google). Some of your data will be transferred to the USA. 

5. Preventing the use of cookies or deleting cookies?

You can at any time protect yourself against the use of cookies by deleting the cookies that were set by the website. The technical information about browser settings explains how you can delete cookies in the browser. Alternatively, a settings window can be called up for most browsers with the Ctrl+Shift+Delete key combination.

You can view the state of activation of cookies of various providers via the following link and block the collection or analysis of your data by their cookies: Set preferences (source EDAA). This does not apply to necessary cookies (see section 3); the website will work without technical cookies.
